Quality all round family entertainer. RIP Sir Bruce.

Good game, Good game ....... see ya Brucie RIP

Just read it. Very sad. Grew up watching the Generation Game and the likes. RIP Sir Bruce.

Nearly all my 70s/80s TV idols dead now. We have Jimmy Tarbuck and Nicholas Parsons still alive and that's about it.

Can't stand most current presenters. Apart from Bradley Walsh.

Give me Uncle Bruce or Uncle Bob (Monkhouse) any time.

Sad times.

Definitely a different era nowadays where talent seems to be based on looks, or who you are related to in the business.
Hardly any talented people anymore on TV, you just have to look at the so called 'celebrity' versions of shows nowadays to realise Made in Chelsea or Towie is the sh*** that gets people on the TV.

Good call on Bradley Walsh though.. he can make people laugh and still do the job in hand.

RIP Brucie, at least you get you join up with your old mates for another round of golf in the clouds.

Yep totally agree @gookah. Bob Monkhouse was seriously funny. As said Bradley Walsh is the only true presenter today. Ooh and Keith Lemon! Can't stand the cardboard makeup cut outs of today.

Heard this on my way home think i spent most of my life watching him on tv .. Nice to see ya to see ya nice.... watch out for the Brucie bonus =))
RIP Sir :drinks:

I really did love Bob Monkhouse. Including during the years he took a battering. Absolute master.

I had the privilege of seeing him with my family at Pontins Camber Sands in the early 90s. However well he came across on TV he was something else in person.

And dear old Brucie was right up there with him.

Thanks for being a part of a very happy childhood Brucie and indeed well beyond :)

Very sad day for the real showbiz world he will be sadly missed

Bob Monkhouse was a very, very clever comedian.
I remember him saying "when I was at school and I said I wanted to be a comedian, they all laughed at me..... Well they're not laughing now"
absolute brilliance

and 'Infatuation'........ is how you tell a Pakistani to cook chips.

Not many left now of the old school REAL showbiz personalities, the kind who were made into men during the 2nd World War and just after when you survived only if you were good enough. Many were, few are left. R.I.P. Bruce.

Tony.
