Rescuing 2.8 update

Here’s my 2.8 it’s done 179,000 miles two owners with fsh. Since I brought in November last year as mot failure it’s had, new wings, painted sills, rear 1/4s, Fixed electric hood, reconditioned interior, replacement wing mirror, refurb Z4 split rims with 4 x new tyres, replace trailing arms and bushes, rear brake lines, welding, repealed boot brake light to stop water ingress, reconditioned hood. I think that’s about it. Still need to get radio decoded, fix fuel gauge.

Even kept the standard radio/ cd boot changer in there. Still got the original wheels as well.

Post a step-by-step on the fuel gauge! Mine goes on and off whimsically, and only usually reads correctly when working. Thank goodness for trip odometers!

Could be a faulty Sender Unit. Mine went and only read from a quarter of a tank to empty when full. Replaced it and now working fine.
