Even my ///M seats I find uncomfortable after 200 miles but that’s a combination having to have the seat right back and not much tilt on the back rest only thing that annoys me about the car but I have a large frame for the car to be honest. A lot more leg room in a Z4 to have the seat how I would like it. I be b*****ed installing Rover seats in mine though.

I hope physio helps you Grumps back pain is such a miserable conditions to suffer from.
Thanks Mark. So do I. Will see how it pans out. No rush to sort it out just yet with coming into winter but i'm going to have to do something.

Can't agree more, even though it's Shirl who is having spinal problems and a course of injections.
Get herself a modern car @Grumps, Roy boy has seen the light

Tony.
Will see Tony. Jue loves the 3 and won't want to part with it and frankly so do I. Maybe a decision to make next year.

Nowt wrong with a 4 mate. Lot more comfy than the 3
Only driven Tonys once and been sat passenger in Dave Mints once but yes definatley more comfortable. If I can sort the seats for the better then that for me would be excellent. If not who knows mate.

After washing the 3 this morning I just couldn't part with it. Like Jue says have a 4 when finances allow as well as but the 3 stays. I'll sort some seats next year.

The Sparco R100 I have now surprised me.
They are track seats and have thinner padding so can go further back and sit lower (you can raise or tilt them depending on the base you use or spacers).
I really wanted lower seating and more grip which they deliver. I thought I'd be compromising comfort for this by looking at them. After doing two long runs including a laborious trek in and around London including lapping the M25 (don't ask) I've been pleasantly surprised- I found them more comfortable than sport seats.

I was going to get some extra lumbar cushions that they do for them - you can simply velcro them in the back area or even under the knee to 'tilt' but not found it necessary (I've tilted the front of the driver seat by about 10mm using a spacer from @Southernboy - might try one of @Pingu new 20mm spacer just to see the difference).

The seats are relatively cheap at less then £200 new. Easy to fit heating pads at around £40 for both seats.
The base however is another £200 : http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=5120

However as Tim Beard did, brackets could be made up - a old seat of regular Z3 should make for a cheap donor?

I've also noticed that Konig do seat bases for Z3

They have some good looking seats too:

If you know what model you looking for then you can keep an eye for a second hand set.

When you down this way next pop in and ave go in my seats, you'll only know by testing a few really.

Thanks for the info Dino. I would prefer a zed seat as first choice if possible or as @Althulas has said maybe send them into a trimmers for a revamp which isn't something i'd thought about. Plenty to think about.
