Are "sports seats" the same as the seats in the MR?

The difference between the standard seats in our 1.9 Z3 and the MC is huge, the latter being much more supportive and comfortable.

No, the ///M seats have bigger bolsters and more support and the trim is different, the normal sports seats are a brilliant upgrade from the standard seats though which I feel are pretty awful. No support and you slip around in them.

Do what I did, find a car with the seats you want. Buy the car, swap the seats over and then sell the other car on. Didn’t cost me a penny in the end ;)

A cheap, simple and easy solution Dave........a patch of Velcro on your seat and a patch of it on your derriere (French for posterior) and your sorted, no more slippy slidy .

Liking that idea Jim. Wouldn't be to much of a problem as long as I had the funds to buy the car when one became available.

Haha, it's not so much the sliding about as the back pain.

I have standard seats in my Zed which I have dyed and made look ok but I would like something better. The obvious choice would be the sports seats but I can't afford them and I do feel they are massively overpriced for what they are.
Is it possible without to much grief to fit something from a 3 series? Looking on eBay there are some nice seats at a fraction of the cost so if they can be adapted to fit without to much trouble and then I can dye them to suit my interior.

Thanks in advance.
Grumps.
Hi , if it helps , I did if red front seats from a z4 in my z3 cobra , just made up new brackets as they are wider, look back on some of my posts to have a look

@Grumps have you got a tilt kit fitted?
Helps a lot.

Was my first mod together with the CG Lock
Ordered it one after I nearly fell out the seat on the first roundabout!

I have dino on both seats. It did help for a while but now i've got a detached ligament in my lower back which they cant repair so it's another issue now. May end up with a 4 yet. :wideyed:

Someone put Rover 75 seats in a Z3.
Will match your wooden trim nicely...

Even my ///M seats I find uncomfortable after 200 miles but that’s a combination having to have the seat right back and not much tilt on the back rest only thing that annoys me about the car but I have a large frame for the car to be honest. A lot more leg room in a Z4 to have the seat how I would like it. I be b******* installing Rover seats in mine though.

I hope physio helps you Grumps back pain is such a miserable conditions to suffer from.

Can't agree more, even though it's Shirl who is having spinal problems and a course of injections.
Get herself a modern car @Grumps, Roy boy has seen the light
