Replacing the cooling fan and bits.

Thats bad news mate. But at least when it is done you will have peace of mind

Thanks Brian I'll have a look. I've had no knocking whatsoever from the engine bay so I'm hoping there OK.

Shame you had to leave early, but on the plus side, you were in england and you can fix it, been a buggggger had it happened in europe, on the dutch cruze,

On my 2000 2.0 the AC was driven by a seperate belt I think? Either way best to blitz the lot at the same time Dave.

I don't have a/c mate but getting everything that's around there anyway.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned that he wouldn't need the second belt ;)

The belt tensioner itself would be on my list mate. I changed the one on my Z3 last year as the bearings were shot and it made an horrendous racket, thought it was a trans problem TBH. (video on YouTube)

Yeah i'm getting, aux belt, tensioner pulley, fan belt, cooling fan, thermostat and housing and Ant bless him has donated a viscous coupling.
