Glad you’re okay.

A good reminder to us amateurs that even a pro can have a mishap sometimes. So we should all be extra careful.

I had a narrow escape recently. I was only wearing rubber gloves. When I took them off the angle grinder had gone straight through but missed my skin by a fraction of a millimetre. Didn’t even know what I’d done...
Its easily done Robert and I should have known better, I believe I was lucky and it was just a reminder as to how dangerous these tools can be.

All been said Sean, but good to see you escaped lightly wounded. Trouble is, and we all do it mate, we get blasé about safety gear until we get a reminder. Mine came years ago when I got a front spring in my mush. That stung a little but luckily it hit my swede and as they say, "where there's no sense, there's no feeling" I'm more careful these days.

Tony.

Oh dear, nasty. At least it's not your drinking hand. Did you have the guard on around the discs? Hope the nurse was tasty and sympathetic ;)
You'll get that dressing messed up if you go into work tomorrow then Carrie will give you grief!

Ouch that must have stung mate :meh:.
I split a finger nail the other day at work, left the guard off my 15mm pipe cutter .

Glad it wasn't too deep Sean, Those angle grinders are dangerous things but we all take the guard off sometimes, silly as it is. :)

Mate of mine was working laying on his back, grinder kicked back and cut him from just under his eye (wearing safety glasses) down to the corner of his mouth.
He's great to take down the pub with you, no one goes near Scare Face .... ;)

Used to use huge grinders in the oil & gas biz, scared the crap out of me those things, used to turn them on with them laying on the ground so that they did not kick out of your hands.

Most big angle grinders these days have slow start motors for that reason. Even bench grinders start slow and then get up to speed.

Called death wheels for a reason.

Happy to see you are relatively unscathed .

This isn't aimed at Sean .

But let's take PPE seriously . Not worth the risks, especially when it's so cheap

Friend of mine very nearly lost a hand to a cutting disc
