Replacing inner sills/chassis

Made a start today until it all went wrong,Got the z up on stands and after a2.5 hour slogthe O/S was of and almost ready for the new one to be positioned, all that needs doing is the final cut and a clean up of the steel underside, gets on my back and almost finished and Bang, the disc dug in and disintegrated, I knew at once it had hit me in a few places and one was worrying as it was my right inner wrist, luckily that was only small but deep, then I took a look at my left hand, s*** of to A&E, so a couple of hours and a few stitches later I am here to tell the tale, lesson learn't WEAR gauntlets next time, I am pleased I was wearing a full face visor as some of the disc hit it and would have done serious damage,

What I so pleased about is how good the inside of the chassis is, see pic 2, there is a couple of bad bits at the ends but the rest is as it should be.

It was 36 grit sanding discs pal, 2 back to back, both ripped off.

The thin metal cutting discs are best things to use unless you have access to a plasma cutter.

A good reminder to us amateurs that even a pro can have a mishap sometimes. So we should all be extra careful.
