I have just been doing some tracing of the History of my Z and i have found it was registered for the first month in San Diego and then imported into the Uk a month later has any one else experienced this ? and does any one know of a reason why this would have been done ? its a RHD 1998 pre facelifte 2.8

Many moons ago my father was stationed in Germany. Every few months we went to Stuttgart to pick up a brand new Mercedes direct from the factory. He owned the car just long enough to drive it across town to the shipping depot.

It was all done to get around the import quotas in the States. Preowned by an American meant it didn't count as one of the new cars imported that year.
