Reggie is at the quacks.

Did you manage to get things sorted?

No mate he still got it. Bmw sent the wrong sensor so he's gone to Chesterfield to get one today. Best get it back this afternoon as I need to tomorrow.

Any update?

Yes mate not good news though :(. New inlet cam sensor fitted which has improved the starting but it's by no means right.
I've not heard it but he's saying it's still turning some before firing up. He also says its back firing if you blip it off idle and it is still lacking power. He's checked the timing which is right so he's looking further into it on Tuesday. He's confident I'll get it back Wednesday at the latest.
Air leak and cat have both been mentioned as possible by a couple of forum members.

Maybe it is linked to the MOT issues you have had in the past with the emissions

Let’s hope for an air leak hidden away out of sight somewhere. Maybe all the faffing about under the bonnet has made it worse.
Fingers crossed For you Dave.

Good luck in getting it sorted... hopefully you’ll be back on the road and enjoying your drive in the very near future

To my mind it's either a lambda censor fault or a MAF fault Dave. I would get those checked out.

Mike

It's coming up with no faults on his diagnostics so I think it's a case of old school fault finding Mike. He'll sort it I'm sure. It's gotta be something.

I feel for you Grumps! There is nothing worse than waiting for a diagnosis from the mechanic, hoping for the best but fearing the worst.
Good luck and hope Reggie is firing on all cylinders again soon.

Any news? Or have you been busying yourself buying another car to forget?

Reggie is firing on all cylinders now Ian.

Tony.

Yes mate sorry. Running superb, starts great and is pulling really well.
New cam sensor, closed the air gap on the crank sensor, set it up and all is well.
