Refur rear callipers - good price

@Sean d if I remember correct you found a company that does these at a sensible price


I suspect one of my rears is sticking as the brake pads on one side have suddenly disappeared and the other side has a few mm.

I’ve done the front callipers but would like to renew the rears - they seem to double the price of the fronts though even though they tiny by comparison!

Ami right in thinking all Z3 have the same rear callipers (and probably shared with e36 3 series?)

Any tips appreciated

I did find someone on ebay doing calipers but I went for Z4 rears as they have a larger piston, I think someone on here worked it out at 37% increase in breaking pressure, they most certainly work very well and I have had no bias issues, they need to be bled before fitting though as they fit on opposite sides due to the flexi position, I suppose a longer flexi would do it though

I got this contract from @Sean d thread. refurbbrakecalipers@gmail.com Person to contact is David. Rough quote was £40 a side refurbished and powdered coated, that was last June so expect to pay a bit more.

That’s interesting. I have the larger 300mm set up on the front so not a massive upgrade but should be ok with a beefier rear set up.
It brakes really well as is but a little better us always good!
Do they still use the same pads (I have a set of yellow stuff pads already)
Did you go refurb it new and how much were they?

Same pads and carriers, think they where £80 with new seals and powder coated

Pre-MOT I'd renewed the rear disc pads and parking brake shoes. One of the dust caps protecting the caliper bolts was missing. Looked on eBay and they sell for about £9 each.
My solution was to buy four 22mm (7/8") "Round Plastic Black Blanking End Cap Caps Tube Pipe Inserts Plug Bung Steel Leg" for £1.66 and trim the three retaining flanges off with a craft knife. Perfect fit.
Hope it doesn't invalidate the warranty.

Should be OK so long as you didn't fit the cap with an ///M badge. Very strict, the ///M police.
