Hi everyone,

Newbie to the site. I’m hoping someone can give me some advice. The plastic has come away from the seam around 3ins worth on the bottom right-hand side. I just don’t know what to do! Can it be fixed?? At the moment I’ve had to put towels there to stop the snow/rain getting in - worried the hole will get worse.

I live near Guildford and hoping some kind person knows where I could take my car to have the window fixed.

Thank you
Anne

Only place I have heard of is the Car hood warehouse. Might be able to help out.
Iam sure others might be along with other suggestions.

Hi Anne welcome from me in Scotland :welcome:.
Could ypu post a picture of where the problem is.
Is it the stitching that holds the zip part to the roof or is it the actual plastic itself thats coming apart.
If its the stitching you can probably repair it

New window and loads of stitching. Great job and lasted well thus far. £240 all in.

Hi Stevo,
Thank you for the welcome! I hope you’re safe up in Bonnie Scotland with this awful weather!!!
Almost sure it’s the stitching that’s come away from the plastic ...I will post a photo when I can as it’s snowing at the moment so just praying the weight of the snow doesn’t make the hole worse ‍♀ I’m in Guildford.

I put black masking tape over mine until I got it fixed. Did the job

Hello and welcome to the forum. We need to see a picture really, it it depends on whether the damage is on the hood or the window. The windows are easily replaceable. I live in Camberley and could have a look if you like. :welcome:

Welcome from sunny Woking, just up the road if you need spare parts (I break z3s) . Can't help with your roof sadly, not got one good enough to sell at the moment.

The window and stitching can both be okay but the beading parts company from shrinkage sometimes.

+1 for Soft Tops in Coventry. They will fix it if anyone can. But if it's shrinkage it may not be repairable. The good news is a new roof is not hugely expensive. Jack Smith of Swansea (well regarded on here) will do one for around £300 supply and fit.

I have a complete almost brand new roof that happens to be made by Jack Smith of Swansea. I'm in Swindon and it's £175. You would need it fitted by a specialist.
