Although I'm on my 6th Z3 and have owned the BMW rear window cover before it's never something I've ever bothered with - preferring instead the rolled up towel approach.

That all ended last week when I thought I'd get the current one out of its cover and give it a go. Aside from it being a perfect fit (as if it was made for the job) the securing straps or a revelation.

I'd pulled up at some lights and it started raining - the latest Z3 has a manual roof so I didn't hesitate, reached over and closed the roof in seconds. As I pulled off I kicked myself and looked in the mirror expecting to see the towel rolling of my boot and on to the road never to be seen again.

But no there it was still attached ready to be released when I got home - like I said a revelation but not sure it's worth what some sellers are asking

got mine from Sopers last year @£53 with forum discount. They said it was last one in uk on their system...maybe true with those prices.

I still have a new one in the packaging the dealer gave me when they replaced my hood under warranty, I’d kept the one from my previous zed that had a hardtop which I use all the time.

Still not bad for what's effectively a small bath towel but I'm sure your worth it and they are bloody good ;)

Not sure which is more impressive - the fact you've owned the car that long, got the hood replaced under warranty or have a brand new unused window cover. It's a hat-trick:thumbsup:

Got 2 now had one i had bought on ebay and the other came with the Orinoco

Yes hindsight is a wonderful thing and I've realised I probably let than one go a little to hastily - and the window cover =))

Ooo feel so proud 🤩 took me two years of reporting a contact patch that was turning into a hole for them to replace it. Also had the drivers door trim panel replaced as the extended leather had a cut in it, that panel cost £500 at the time apparently 😬

I also use one of those light weight dog blankets over the rest of the hood and tuck it under the window blanke.
