Hi,

I have been on the lookout for some time for one of the genuine rear window covers. They seem to be as rare as hen's teeth, so my wife has offered to make me one. Her first question of course was what are the dimensions.

Is there anyone out there with a genuine window cover who would be willing to measure it and let me know what size it is?

I have tried to make estimations from pictures I have seen, but if I can get the actual size that would be great.

Many thanks.

Could you not just measure the rear window and add 10cm all around? From memory they aren't much bigger than the window

My home-made cover has the advantage that it ihas a pocket containing a pieces of foam pipe lagging, which stop the window from kinking when the hood is folded down. it was made from a fleecy blanket, and has been very successful. Velcro straps retain it in position. The pieces of lagging enable it to be folded to a length of about a foot. When raising the roof the protector naturally falls behind the roll-over bars.

It extends around the corners of the hood to prevent the layers of the hood from rubbing against each other and causing the usual shiney areas- although a Mk.2 version would extend further around the corners of the hood to the edges of the windows.

It also makes a good pillow when camping!

Wow, this is taking a rear window cover to the next level! I do like the pipe lagging idea. I will speak with the the designer and see if she could include some pockets in her design.
