Hi all - UK spec 1998 Z3 with twin front and rear fog lamps, but the rears are on permanently. The switch works on the front fogs, but the rear lamp button to the right sort-of moves in and out but makes no difference. I'm assuming it's broken due to the way it moves and needs replaced. I can't get at the switch due to the large trim panel below - are these simply press-fit pins holding it on? I don't want to be brutal and break something in error. Two here and one on the outer side. I also assume the fog lamp switch itself simply presses out from behind? All help and advice welcome.

Yes it is a press fit. Usually drop the large trim panel below and reach in to pop it out.

Job done; those rubber 'clips' are actually dummy heads for self tappers. Switch popped out and replaced in seconds.

yes those clips are terrible... It is almost guaranteed that one will damage the panel when removing them... (especially if they were untouched for 20+ years !)

once removed, my advise is not to refit them, the screw is black so the difference is hardly visible...

Those cover clips are quite expensive, over £1 each when I last bought some, and that is a few years ago!

I liked the look of the bare screws, as they were black and undamaged, but went on and refitted the covers anyway. Can't see them unless I lie in the footwell.
