Hi All

Going to drop the rear axle carrier dif all that game for a rebuild tomorrow had a good look today and the exhaust is one piece what should i do I was thinking of cutting it and then re-joining with these https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/klarius-delux-sleeve-712110860 after the cats the current join looks really crusty so dont fancy undoing there any ideas would be greatly appreciated. It has two cats pipes but only one back box if that makes sense

If you’re working on your own on axle stands you will probably have to cut the two into one pipe(s) and join them as you suggest. If you have help at hand you can get the rear suspension off without totally removing the exhaust system.

The 3.0 normally has two pipes all the way from the manifolds to the rear silencer. The joining sleeves are one way to go, I have a spare new OEM exhaust system and it is in two parts with two joining sleeves, I know @Lee has used these in the past and He is the one to give the best advice on this.

As Mike says in the early zedshed days we did cut a few exhaust systems and fitted a sleeve after. Not my preferred method but still a very good way to get the job done.

The VAG cars are fitted with these sleeves from new Dan, so you can be confident they will be ok, If they're good enough for an Audi ..............
