Hi , can anyone tell me is it possible to replace this bush with out removing the entire diff from the car ?
Have a mild thud when changing gear with a quick clutch action and having read up abit it would seen this to be the most likely culprit.
If driven smoothly not a bean of noise at all ...... any advise?

I would also check the prop doughnut. Not sure about replacing the diff bush in situ you might have to drop it a bit to clear the bracket and gain access.

Yeah have thought that too they are the two on the drive train... i appreciate it needs to be dropped just wondered if it had to pulled clear of the car? Thanks

Yes you can change the bush without dropping the diff. We had this discussion when we removed the rear sub frame from my car for refurbish.

It's worthwhile fitting a Powerflex diff bush as they are easy enough to push in by hand (it's the only Powerflex bush fitted on my car). OEM style requires a lot more effort to press in.

As Gary said it can be done but its fiddly. You slacken everything off get a jack under the diff and lower it gently until the bushe is clear of the hanger. The rear beam will pivot on the rubber bushes. Spurs fan has done this.

Also just like Aceman said check the guibo coupling (rubber disc) which sits between the gearbox and the prop shaft.

Thanks guys i will get the parts ordered and get the job done.
One further thing i take it the rubber bush fails as it pulls from a steel fitting collor does this knock out / prise out easily once the bush is removed or will i need to cut the sleeve ?
Will get the powerflex one its a purple bush around the 30 quid mark and is in 5 parts is that the one ?

I stick a long screw driver through the hole and twist to break the rubber joint out. You will be better hacksawing that ring that's left behind out then tap it out.
