Hi, the saga continues.
I jacked the car up by the rear differential and since putting the car back on the road have now got a scrapping/ticking noise off the drivers side rear. It speeds up as the car does etc. it’s not effected by braking. Any ideas before I have look next weekend?
the rear end does need a bush re-fresh but was planning on doing this winter.
Figured if it was the prop shaft it would be real noisy (from past experience).
Thanks in advance.

I had the spring and pin that hold the hand brake shoes fall out once. It laid in the bottom of the disc and made a fair amount of noise until I found it.

Great thanks, will get the wheels off and have a look.

Also check for a small stone trapped against the pads, or between the water shield and the disc.

The handbrake mechanism at the bottom of the hub plate is very close tolerance to the drum of the disc. There's often an rubbing sound from that area. The sound is usually like a regular quiet whistle that is in time with wheel rotation.

Other problem solved, a bit of knackered exhaust shield catching on the prop 😆

Me too. Drove me mad untill I dismantled the brakes and found the loose bolt
