Rare Z3 Spec?

As I’ve just about got my Atlanta Blue 2.2 Sport Z3 how I want it, another Sport has just become available with an “unusual” spec.

I’ve run the car through a VIN Decoder but it hasn’t really answered my question as to whether the interior is from factory or swapped out since?

Under Upholstery it says “Leather Classic / Black but then shows option code S481 “Sports Seats”?

Can anyone help clarify from the pic;

Pretty sure that’s the interior from the ‘kyalami’ special edition, however I thought all those cars were black and yours seems to be Dakar. Nice though

The car is Dakar but it sounds like the interior has been swapped out?

First Z3 I’ve seen with a multifunction steering wheel too.

Seats are Z3M seats in Arizona sun.

I got a set couple of years ago for my Dakar individual model but thought they clashed a bit so dyed yellow ( now rolls royce lemon)

Go much better now in my opinion.

The m sports steering wheel is the same as E 46 so buttons will fit into wheel they may not work as this would require changes to the clock spring to include the additional wiring that would be required.

All Z3 steering wheels are "Multi-functional" .. they just removed all the functions and replaced them with blanking covers ☹
Kyalami is supposed to be a Mango type colour like on the steering wheel.. .. the seats look more yellow though. May have been leather painted?

Thanks for the response; I’ll check if the wheel buttons actually work or not; I’d assumed that because they’re present, they’re functional as it seems pretty pointless having them there otherwise?

Thanks for the reply. I think “Mango” is the correct current colour but will know better when I’m stood in front of it.
