Radio code

With a little fettling, I managed to get the Z3 radio to power up......

BUT it’s coming up with code, easy I hear you say !

to get the serial number I take the radio out and this is what greets me !!

So how do I find the serial number or code number with this

Yup - rather cryptic.
Try a main dealer they may be able to get it off your Reg Number or VIN. If so they will probably ask for vehicle document as proof.

After a trip to our local BMW dealer, they too couldn’t figure out what was written on the radio.
So a quick Reg check and the details looked similar to the radio sticker ... so they suggested I try the code (which they printed off)
Got home and tried

Amazingly ..... It worked !!
I still have the original radio in the car since 2002 !!
Just need to get the CD changer to work and maybe change a couple of the non working speakers ........

Good result - the radio code would not be on the label anyway for security reasons.

THANKYOU, I had realised the security code wouldn’t be on the radio .... it’s the serial number I needed for BMW to give me the security code
Luckily I had a few numbers which matched despite the rest being unreadable .... Result !!
