Norman “bite you legs” Hunter passes away aged 76 after contracting Covid 19. He had 14 years with Leeds Utd. and was a member of the 1966 World Cup squad.

Very sad, just listening to the lads on Talksport discussing his career. Over 700 games for Leeds, can you see any present day players getting that many matches in for one team. Doubt it.
A true legend.

A sad loss , a great player in what I consider as Leeds greatest team , just my opinion .

A great player from a great era in football, a sad loss.

A great player in a time when you could actually make a tackle
Whithout the opposition falling down like they’ve been shot

He was known as one of the games hard men, but Norman could play a bit too. Vastly underrated and would have won more international caps if he wasn't competing with the great Bobby Moore

And his Leeds team mate Jackie Charlton.

Tony.

Watched the matches both at Elland Road and at the Baseball Ground between the two teams of the era. Leeds, two League Titles, Derby, two League Titles. It was always a battle with great players on both sides. Of course when Derby had just won the league in 1975 I was at the match to see the 'fraca' when Hunter and Franny Lee were sent off. It regularly appears on tv reports from the time!
