R.I.P. Jimmy Greaves.

Jimmy has passed away at 81 years. Another character gone.

Well I can’t leave this thread with no replies. Jimmy Greaves was an exquisite goal scorer who belongs right up there with the greatest of all time. But somehow never got the same widespread credit. He was also a great turn on the TV and a much loved part of my childhood even if I wasn’t old enough to see him play.

I suspect, sadly, that some turned their backs on him because of his trouble (which he bravely overcame unlike some) with alcohol. Goodbye Jimmy and thank you for the good times. R.I.P.

I was and remember him scoring the winner at Goodison Park - confess I've just had to google it, but it was 1967. RIP
