My fiances Mini had a misfire a few weeks ago and I was advised to change the plugs. When I took them out I thought they looked OK, infact very much like yours but a new set of plugs cured it completely. Whilst they are out it will be worth doing them and they are a service item that need changing periodically anyway. If it doesn't cure it then start to look at the coil pack etc, at least you have piece of mind the plugs have been changed.

I don't see Bosch putting out a bad product so as long as the spec matches the old ones I'd be comfortable using them! JIM

Those plugs look worn, a new set will more then likely sort your issue.

@Sean d and @g8jka - I've changed the plugs and guess what, she's as smooth as silk. You can tell she's still sucking in air, however the misfire is no more. A double bonus is the fact that the sound system is fantastic too, very loud with a LOT of kick to the bass. A triple bonus if there is such a thing, is that I think I've found what's draining the battery - the window motor has jumped off the runner and continues to cycle when the window is up. Hopefully a reset and that problem will be solved.
Took her for a spin and she sounds great, warms up nicely, pulls well, and has absolutely no knocks, bangs or rattles
Thanks to all those who pitched in with advice, and whilst there is a way to go, I now know the base car is good.

Way to go! Sometimes we think the worst is going on when in fact if you start with the simple it may just be what's needed!! Glad it wasn't more serious! JIM

Yes, that would be nice for the boy Tony. I''m glad he has you there to coach him along, he seems to get a bit bewildered at times I think but an eager learner to take under you wing. JIM
