Good day out mateIt's a shame that I never got to see Vindolanda when I was in the lakes earlier this year.
O well next year
3 hours and 10 minutes from you SeanLooks cracking pal, never heard of it
...... before the travel begins.
Vinda what??? Thought you was talking about some new wine there for moment Andy.
More the wiser now I know where it is in this lovely country of ours.
Glad your enjoying being out and about while I've been slaving away yet again.
Roy.
@Mrs Mint not on this occasion but we have been before, another good day outFunny that @Andy McDonnell on the way back from Scotland we stayed overnight near there and went to Vindolanda, we had never heard of it but Jan (of Bazza and Jan) suggested it.
It was really interesting.
We went to the Roman Army Museum the next day before going home, did you go there? That was really good but I think we should have done that first.
Enjoy your family time![]()
Lots of Roman type stuff to check out near by mateLooks cracking pal, never heard of it
Loads of Roman Heritage sites in this neck of the woods, all well worth a visit. Some are only small so if you are visiting set up a couple to see. If you visit Vindolanda you also get a ticket for the Old Roman Fort (valid for 12 months). PukkaAnother place we must try to see, thanks for the photos and information. I think we will have to make a Scotland and points north trip next summer.
We obviously have a superb eye for photo subjects Andy......snap
