Only worked in exchanges during my apprenticeship, moved into datacomms in 1976. Spent a fair few years training on X25, Ethernet, IP, Routers. I can still remember the trauma of teachng a class of 16 variable length subnet masking

Actually thinking about it now, you're right Pete. I'm going back to when I was a telephone engineer in the '80s, but yes they are all striped now.

Remember they all add up to 7 when connecting 1-6, 2-5 and so on
