I guess you could say that when I purchase a vehicle it follows suit that I automatically join a forum or 2. I had an itch to do some wrenching in the garage and the ATV and UTV just weren't satisfying my needs. I picked up a 2001 Z3 roadster with the 2.5i which has seen 207,000 miles. Previous owner for the past 5 years was a guy that was in college and was using this car as his daily driver up until I purchased it one week ago. No maintenance records exist so my first step is to do basic maintenance, replace all fluids, replace thermostat and water pump with a performance version, hoses, belts, and a worn gasket that is causing a slight oil leak. Going to run a compression check this weekend.
I love forums because sure enough one of you has already encountered and dealt with most everything that will be thrown at me by the way of curve balls with this toy.

Welcome :) It's one of us though. I'm sure you'll bring your own knowledge back to the forum too :)

Appreciate that inclusive response mrscalex! My own knowledge be a bit scary though because most of my projects to date have been building lifted trucks and jeeps, for Rock Crawing :dead:.

Thanks for the Welcome Shelly! ;) It's so cool to see all the locations of where everyone is from (haven't heard of many of them but I am one to Google). Beautiful country to tour over there and I'm sure it promotes getting out and doing some serious top down driving.

It's been a lovely hot day today , so I've been out with the roof down , we're got to enjoy the sunshine whilst we can :p
Happy googling to see where we all come from :)

Hi There, welcome, yes a forum is a must, saves so much time if you can just ask a question about a problem rather than go looking for the culprit.

Glad to be here Rha! I was surprised how little I did find when researching my Z suspension for a healthy upgrade. In the interim I purchased replacement rear shocks and reinforcement plates and mounts to replace the sagging pair that are on there currently. It was the first thing I noticed driving the car home. Under acceleration the rear would squat (ugh!!). :depressed:
