First tour was in charge of the hydraulic bay and the second looking after the air conditioning coolers for the radar transmitters and receivers.

Yes, that was a good tour, book a seat on an Eric each morning and go visiting the outposts depending who had a curry on for lunch that day.:)
Visited Mount Alice (Fire Safety), it was fog bound so the chopper landed at the bottom so we took the BV 206 up :wideyed: a great welcome and night.

Pull up a sandbag some time! but not now , thanks. Hard Top , Oman sand storms,Dofar etc !! another time.

You mentioned bv, I instruct on those out in Norway, good fun.
We had 3 converted to Fire Rescue Vehicles to be taken to the scene by Chinook as an underslung load.

Never got to do the Falklands only managed 8 months in Belize lovely 34% and only one Hurricane then did 2 1/2 years in Germany

A bit more than Spiders fckn massive Rhino Beetles, that came out at night all you could hear was whooosh thump. Next morning you would find them all over in the wood work.
Also plenty of scorpions and deadly snakes boas pyhtons black mambers
We spent around a month with the Gurkha's when we were there, man they are crazy
