I lived in the Falkland islands for a year, the sheep keep well clear of the Bennies.:)

Only one 12 month tour for me in the 1990s, took wife and kids with me. Interesting days.:)
Loved it down there, Fire Section, mainly Crash Bays but occasionally Domestic side. The fittest I've ever been in my life. I may have frequented;

1. Shadeys
2. Crab and Sprocket
3. Lott 22
4. Timmeys
5. The Queen Vic
6. The Globe (Stanley)
7. The Upland Goose (Stanley)
To name but a few, hic :depressed:
88, 94, 98, 01 & 06.

@Ianmc we have our own "pull up a sandbag thread". Tally Ho :cool:

On my 88 tour we'd go down to Stanley on the lash in our own 4 tonner. The driver would clog it and the guys in the back would have to climb out the back and onto the roof whilst hooped. Fortunately (for our lives) we got caught by the WO who was behind us in his Landy. It didn't end well :arghh: :arghh: :D

essentially one big peat bog. Oh, and a tad windy.

Sod that, give me the dessert and 45c any day, except for when there was a Ghibli (sand storm)
If we were caught in one, we had to reverse park into the wind so only the rear window got sand blasted.
