So i have a nasty looking front bumper which needs a total respray but as i was taking her to Santapod at the weekend we came up with a good idea and @GazHyde gave me some carbon wrap. We covered the worst of the damage with the wrap and i have to say its not perfect but it did the trick and there are a couple of awesome pics taken from the day :D

You know I never even noticed. Note to self.
Sam I think that carbon looks great giving your Z3 a more modern look. I guess it all depends on how good the carbon has been fitted.

That's a good idea Sam, and puts off an expensive paint job for while.;)

So as you know my front bumper was looking pretty sorry for itself. Some of the paint was peeling off from the top. And a curb jumped out on me (cheeky buggar)so i caught the point of the bumper a little too. Luckily it was just paint that cracked and there was just a very small suspected crack on the underneath. We popped a little bit of black carbon fibre wrap over the damage but its been something i wanted to get sorted for a while.
Well... i dropped the bumper off this morning to Martins repair centre (which is actually a renault dealership too) and they are going to rub it all down, harden, prep and spray it! Should be getting a call some point tomorrow to say its all done! :D

We also found that it looks like the reason for the paint chipping away os due to a cheap spray over in the past. When taking off the wrap the paint cane with it and it looks like someone has rubbed down and filled it before.

My CCV Valve arrived today too so a full write up on that to come soon too!!
 
Way to go Sam I'' in the same boat with my front bumper but for different reasons. I had my car a week and someone backed into it and dented in the nose, broke the grill and bumper cover. I've been looking for a ///M bumper cover as a replacement but not in Canada in seems.Also the cover has had work done before so it looks like I'll end up getting it repaired. Vixen should look like she should after the fix. Happy New Year to you and Lee! JIM
 
Well theres been a slight delay. Its turns out that my bumper has had 5 'blow overs' in the past. All different colours too! Its taken the guys a lot longer to rub down then they expected but ive just had an email to say it'll be ready for pick up in the morning :thumbsup:
