This time it's a front splitter. Gloss black ready to go straight on. Glutton for punishment with the local speed bumps, but hey ho!

Definitely not getting ripped off on a speed bump with this amount of bolts holding it on :bag:... 14 bolts for something that's only 6 foot long =))

So that's 14 holes to get ripped out of the bottom of the bumper then.. will it be as low as @Rally ?

Jesus that's a bit overkill.

Mines held on with some tape and self tappers

I would love to fit something like that on mine, but even the soft rubber splitter I have on gets folded back over itself when I pull out of our works car park so a carbon one would not last more than 1 day :(:(

Been a while since any kind of update... I have a whine coming from somewhere, and I can't pin point it. Guessing likely it's gearbox or differential, so we are going to change the oil in both on Saturday. Spoke to the guys at Opie and they recommended the following, delivered next day with 10% forum discount came to £35.08

Fuchs Titan Race SYN 5 75W-90 Fully synthetic gear oil - 1 Litre for the diff
Fuchs Titan Sintofluid 75W-80 synthetic manual transmission fluid - 2 litres for the gearbox, 1.5 litre capacity.

Will post up an update once it's changed.

It's been a while, and probably the longest I've ever parked a Zed I've owned up for - something like 5 months now...

Had to bring around some German friends to bring the old gal back to life, battery was completely drained so not even central locking to pop the boot open. The bonnet catch had seized, so that was fun but now lubed up with some silicone grease. As we couldn't get to the battery, she got a transfusion from her German cousin at the jump points in the engine bay.

Once there was enough juice flowing she sparked in to life pretty much straight away, and then sat purring away like no time had passed at all. A bit of mould to clean up tomorrow, hopefully can leave the roof down all day if the weather is good.

Looks like all she needs apart from a damn good clean is a new headlight bulb and an MOT to get her on the road.

Sooo... a thing happened. A mate was in need of a car, and he'd been on at me for a while about the Z4... She'd been SORN'd for the last 15 months, and I was just about getting around to MOT'ing it and he made me an offer.

So that's me Zedless, but I'll be grabbing passenger seats for events here and there. Will be upgrading my daily dizzle to something a little more exciting to make up for it.

Gutted Gaz :(. Love that car, how can our leader not have a zed? It's just wrong on every level. I'm off for a cry now. :(

Wow, must be some sort of law that states if you own a zed forum you must have a zed ;)

So that's why the wheels are up for sale then? At least it will get used now, its painful seeing such a nice zed tucked away for so long. A nice ///M of some sort will be a good upgrade for the daily.
Yeah, they’ve gone in the shed for now! Although I’d love something M or the likes, priorities change. It’s a shame there’s nothing really Z shaped that’s suitable for commuting 75 miles a day. I managed it for 9 months in this Z4 but it was just too thirsty. So anything petrol and less than 40mpg is just gonna hurt, so that reduces the pool significantly.

Until I've decided which way to go with the Z4, a couple of small purchases...

Finally snagged myself a cruise control stalk, which should be a simple plug 'n play. Also another (sigh) cup holder which is in the box. BMW really crapped the bed when they designed these considering they are £45 a failure...

EDIT: Not plug and play... http://bimmertune.com/index.php?route=blog/article&article_id=5
