#ZedShed Project Low Rider - BMW Z3 2.2i Sport

Did any one of us notice I accidentally stole a screwdriver from the Zed Shed.
Found it in the boot. Naturally I will return it but I hope there isn't a fine.

Oh... I would watch it... @GazHyde will blame @Lee who in turn will say it was one of the senile old guys from the workshop... =))=))

Not if you didn't sign for it Steve.;)

Tony.

Great news took the Z3 out to visit mom via the two places were i knew the DSC would kick in and nothing no DSC so I'm well pleased. I wonder why my local BMW dealer couldn't work it out and Lee has.
What can I say but a massive thank you Lee. Gaz and Sam.
And not forget getting @pgunter and @Oldguysrule for fitting the expansion tank.
Look I'm smiling :):):)
I've received some good old honesty with all the receipts.
So here it is need help from guys you can trust look no where else.
The Zed Shed is under your nose on your mobile.

Thanks again.

Steve, it was a pleasure :)

Your guess is as good as mine on that, but it was beyond obvious what was wrong as soon as the rear arch liner came out exposing the rear beam bush.

Was lovely to meet you @Low Rider shame it was drizzling and cold. Look forward to the next meet :)

You to Shortie_gal it would have been nice to take a photo of the Zeds together.

Today was MOT day

It passed after the joint where the exhaust was cut was recemented for £10 to fix it.

Advisories.
1. Chip in the windscreen.
2. Fuel cap seal deteriorated
3. Brake pipe corroded offside rear

So she lives another year to enjoying the company of the members from Zroadster.org so you're get to see more of me.
I'm not sure thats what you wanted but you've got it. Ready steaded go for 2016

As a foot note I would like to thank Lee, Gaz, Sam and not for getting pgunter and Oldguysrule for all the help in making 2016 my second year of driving a Zed.

Today was my first top down motoring and how wonderful it was cornering like Gaz. My Z3 feels so much better enjoying riding round Stratford upon Avon.
Good for you mate ;).
You'll be wanting to join the fast boys on the cruses now by the sound of it :coolsteer).

Steve

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the back plates. Assuming that they are the rears I thought you had to remove the hub / wheel bearing.
Good luck with it.

I wont be as I know a man that does @Lee from the Zed Shed.
I understand you do have to but it can be done by cutting the back plate.
I have watched this done on YouTube

I did mine a few years ago, to do this by the book is a PITA, rear hubs off, I believe you can cut and weld them but that was not for me.

The 'cut the back plate' option which I found (on the excellent pelican site) turned out to be for an e46. They cut the thinnest section out, but with the z3 that means removing the part with the hole you need for the parking brake retaining springs.
That was my understanding after I bought the part.
I'm in no way a z3 Jedi, so keen to see what the shed can do!

You had a great crew there working on your car @Low Rider and the best part is you get a better car out of the basically volunteer labour of all that work there! Really wish I could help out!! JIM
