Crackle paint likes a little heat to activate it to its best, very low oven or even put back on the car and run the engine will work well. Got to say though that job looks spot on.I used VHT Wrinkle Plus, it has worked really well. I thought it wasn’t going to work at all at first, the next time I looked at it There was a little patch and then within two hours it had totally crinkled right up, I am very pleased.
I now have two sets of valves and will be using the valves from the replacement head, they will be cleaned down and Lapped, it makes sense and is best practice. Once this is done I won’t be going back in there. New valve stem oil seals too job done then.
Hi everyone i have not replied for a while i have been out and about enjoying my Z it passed its mot on the 11th without any problems the mot tester was actually quite impressed with it and i was rather chuffed with myself i must say thanks for asking it means a lot there are still a few things i would like to tackle on the car but they might have to wait until we have moved and i have a new garage, i really want to tackle the rear arms and cradle they are looking rusty and a good strip sand blast and rebuild will make all the difference i also have a e46 brake upgrade to larger vented front disks which will give me more confidence stamping on that middle pedal and obviously i will be giving it a full respray hopefully this year before the summer i will post some pics from just before going for her mot she has not moved in 3 years been sat in a field rotting away i have been over everything and am so pleased with what we have now my partner was surprised and has fallen in love with the little z though I’m not sure she realises secretly its still mine. HahahaMoT'd and in use?
The cam cover would not fit in the oven i promise you if it had fitted it would have gone straight in there not sure the missus would be impressed she certainly wasn’t when i used the dish washer to clean parts and filled the kitchen sink with car parts too hahaCrackle paint likes a little heat to activate it to its best, very low oven or even put back on the car and run the engine will work well.
