As long as your middle name doesnt start with a T you should be fine looking for your full initials
, for example 3letters 3numbers are cheaper than 2letters 2(or1) numbers - initials first on the plate are dearer than numeric first, ie: GLP 100 or 100 GLP, so that can make a difference in price too. I would go for your initials though, the plates which are cheap and only mean part of something dont look like private plates anyway.
Have a look at the DVLA Auction site - they have four auctions every year, some are newly released numbers but might have what you want, but be aware of vat, buyers premium ect. Transfer fee is £80, but that is usually added to the price. Also to bare in mind, if your car fails an mot, there is a possibility you could loose your plate if it isnt put in a state to pass, so keep that in mind, although your car should be great for a few years yet.
Or, If you find a number you like, hunt around as a few dealers may have the same number and they can vary alot in price. If you find one, let us know and we can help you with the next bit. Usually takes about 2/3 weeksish to transfer.
I keep having a look now and again, and sometimes MY plate is shown as for sale with POA, if a dealer has an enquiry about it they can find out who owns it and put a price to them - cheeky sods!
Here are a few for you :ymhug:
