I agree that only the 2.8/3.0 and m will go up.

Just more desirable. All the lower engines that are sports will get broke for parts as strangely they are worth more in bits than whole

My 2.2 is only valued at £1500 max to sell private as I've been offered just less than that a couple of times by breakers. Just for parts as car itself isn't very good
I bet those of us old enough said that about 1100 Mk 1 Escorts back in the day too.

The amount of mk1 escorts that went through our local car auctions in the early 80s for £50/£100 was mind blowing I remember buying mk 1 mini seven for £15 in 1982 and a 1965 998 cooper for £30 If only I had kept them locked away , but the most important think is to have fun and enjoy them while you can

Thinking of taking the roof off and seats out, filling with soil, bit of planting making a very attractive raised bed!

Generally yes.

But for example it can impact insurance payouts if you don’t have agreed value.
I have been thinking about my current project and what the agreed value should be, cost of car £700, parts and paint will finish around 4k, labour = lottery win :D I was thinking agreed value of 5k, that covers my costs

Got to be worth more than 5k, it's gonna be practically a new car when your finished, more like 7 or 8, just my opinion

I think your bang on at 5k mate. Yes it's going to be as close to new as can be but all zeds have a ceiling limit.
