Pretty awful MOT....

I collected the car today. I told them why I would not be returning and was told they can "only quote the manufacturer's "book value" for the job. Not entirely what that is, especially if they are not a main dealer. I gently suggested that they could use their own skill and knowledge to quote a fair price based on the cost of parts and the time required and left it at that.
.. how does that explain the price of the tyres then, that are not bmw specific. You made the right decision getting it out of there. Getting it to @Lee at the Zedshed is the best option if you don’t fancy tackling the work yourself

Similar to the MOT garage above I took my rear wheel into have a puncture repair this morning , we can do it straight away the fitter said so all good me thinks , £35 for a puncture repair , I was a bit shocked and even more so when I checked the invoice later seeing £4.15 of environmental charges 😂 wasn’t long ago I paid a tenner for a repair, really am out of touch with prices!

Isn't environmental charge for disposal, which you wouldn't have had if it was repaired?

Exactly! Although I googled it and it did say they now charge this for disposing of the repair kit ( needless to say it probably went in the bin) 😂
Enquired about two new front tyres while I was there, won’t be getting any more money from me .
