preferences on wind deflectors

ok, what are peoples preferences on wind deflectors for hoop and non hoop - Perspex or fabric mesh.
keep in mind that Perspex can be any colour tint and mesh can also be in any colour.
aesthetics and usefulness (are Perspex more effective than mesh? do they look better when colour coded? is mesh more practical)
 
I love this one mate, does a great job even in sub zero temps

Had both, do prefer the view through the interior mirror with the perspex plus its somewhere to stick the Zorg sticker. Not sure if its any better than the fabric mesh
 
I've also been playing with prototype that fits inside the hoop, this is just a waste bit of 3mm acrylic

I have both and I find the mesh one is very slightly more effective but the perspex looks better. the other thing about the perspex is that it limits access to the area behind the roll bars when the hood is up therefore for holidays when loaded with luggage and likely to need the hood raised, I use the mesh.

that's an interesting point, hadn't thought of that @mwpe
I too have made smaller inner hoop deflectors again with 3mm acrylic @Sean d , not fitted yet (gona wait till spring)

Mine simply lifts out Mike thus allowing entry to the rear parcel shelf and the cubby box
 
mine and seans are diy, I'm now working on a hoopless deflector but trying to weigh up pros and cons of Perspex vs fabric.

I'm sure @Lee can get the Perspex one mathew
 
not seen the back of misty with out the hood down since october, on that point after 8 weeks of frost rain wind uncovered her and she started first turn not many cars you can say that about :):):)
 
I've ended with both. Like the Perspex look but like the ease of the mesh zip to get access to the rear to clean window, adjust my dampers etc.
I was always scared of scratixhing the Perspex by taking it on and off and of course figer prints.
A tinted Perspex with a anti scratch film would be nice would be a very nice look.
 
I have the mesh and happy with it: it's effective, can stay up also with when the roof is up, it folds and does not take space.

The Perspex looks very good though
 
Tinted perspex one on mine, don't use the rear compartment for storage so not that fussed that it can't be accessed. It's only a pain when trying to hoover the rear shelf or clean the rear window. It's actually off at the moment as I removed it when I had the new roof fitted then put the hardtop back on before refitting it.
