Anyone of you has one fitted recently? What did you get, and how much? Not entirely sure of the options really.

It's @spurs fan in a coupe entire fault too -- I tried his car last week end, and now I need an upgrade ;-)

I'm popping to a custom exhaust garage tomorrow I've just found in Newbury, if I find something out I'll let you know! They do custom as well as off the shelf systems... Need more noise in my life!

Previously had a Longlife from the place in Basingstoke which was perfectly good (if incredibly loud :ymdevil:)

Well there's a Powerflow 5 minutes from my house in Slough https://www.powerflowexhausts.co.uk/Powerflow-Slough -- I called them, and the guy quoted me 420 for a system; however, that's about ~100 more than what their website quotes... So I'm a bit puzzled... I'd be curious to know how much they charge you!

And yeah, I also need more noise in my life. Now with the hard top, I can barely hear anything from inside the car, that's a disgrace :)

Will people please stop talking about exhausts. Too many things to spend money on already, it doesn't need one (yet) but I still feel the need for a bit more brrrmmm.:) And while I'm here, do you still get the same burble from a stainless system? Don't want to lose that, it's part of what I like about the car. And the scream, too.:ymdevil:

Moar burbles, Moar scream, especially at higher rev. I LOVE the 'barry white' grumble at low rev on stock exhaust, but as soon as you hit 3k it's a bit thin, I think...

Don't want too much noise, especially around 3000, with a 2.2 that's cruising-on-a-dual-carriageway speed (nearest motorway to here is in England, strange how it stops at the border. Grumble etc).
The one I tried (Adrian's) is surprisingly quiet in fact at 'potering around' revs.... That is until you slam it down; that what convinced me really, I don't want to sound like a cheap ford fiesta, I just want a bit more high-ends on the diva when she's singing :)

So the deep Barry White end is fine, it's the Maria Callas end that needs a bit more oomph :)

Popped to see the local guy, I need to go back when he has a ramp free. Doesn't want to throw numbers around without having seen underneath, which I guess is fair. When we got chatting I mentioned I had a Long Life system, he said he gets a few of their customers drop by for sorting out. He says it's not the guys who do the work, it's the sh*** stuff they have to use to build a system.

Anyways, will update again once I've got a proper quote and an idea of what he suggests underneath!

https://www.infinity-exhausts.co.uk/ did mine and they are not that far from you, Its a nice blub blub blub noise when you let your foot off and a nice low American V8 type noise at low revs and some throttle then after about 3k revs the noise sounds like......... Hmmmm cant think of a way to describe it, I guess If pushed i'd say the engine is singing kinda like a F1 car and I'm not sure why it sounds so good but it could be because its 2 exhausts and not 2 into 1 or maybe the sport cats but when you are up to speed and cruising there is no booming or nasty noises at all and at part throttle its almost silent, and no I don't work for them ;) but they will make it how you want them to and you choose tailpipes at no extra cost though I made him cut the ones I wanted about because I'm a difficult sod, the only downside is its in the sticks and there is nothing much to do while you wait :)

Nice, and how much was yours then? What option did you take -- did they change the whole assembly and 'cut' the original and attached to that?

It was £700 for both cats and 2 pipes ect welded onto the 2 pipes just after the join, I thought it best to leave them alone as they can be a pain, the first say 50 miles I thought it was a little loud and I'd have to take it back but true to the guys words it did tone down a lot after a while, Its the second exhaust we had done there and I will be taking my new car there soon as I save my pennies ;)
