Hey guys looking for some help I am now on about my 7th high pressure pipe and the garage keep replacing them under warranty but I’m trying to get to the root cause... has anyone come across this problem before ?
The pipe keeps cracking/fracturing at the same place and I have had the pump replaced so I know it’s not the figment on the pump

Any help welcome!!!

Just a thought are the garage using ATF ? (automatic transmission fluid) Maybe not using BMW pipes due to availability or cost and using a "specialist" to make the pipes.

I'm clutching at straws here, would a faulty power steering pump over pressurise the system?

Did you say its crashing or crushing?

I can't follow what is happening here. More info or pictures of the failed pipe might help.

The pipe keeps cracking sorry I was tired when I wrote this haha
So the high pressure pipe where it fits into the pump keeps cracking/fracturing where the olive is cast into the metal...
This is being dealt with my a bmw dealership using genuine bmw parts and they are kind of at a loss after replacing the pump

Have you checked the engine mounting, they're oil filled and it's possible there is too much vibration causing the pipe to crack or even just too much movement of the engine.

When they sent a technical case to the bmw HQ or whatever that’s what they said begin and gearbox mounts so they have been changed and it has still happened...

So any other ideas welcome

That was my next question. Steel pipes usually only crack through vibration.
