Power steering pipes

Hi it's been a while help required guys car been locked up all winter 1st time out power steering leak well she's 17 after all, has anybody got rack removal instructions that they could email or photocopy from Bentley
Service manual or the like I know it's a bit cheeky looks like I will have to do job myself as garage want to replace rack when it's only rotten pipes any help would be greatly appreciated

You shouldn't need to remove the rack to change the pipes Dave. If the pipe that is rotten goes to the rack and is hard to undo you can cut it off then use a socket. Can you post pictures of leaking pipe because one common one can be repaired in situ.

Still to get under myself and have a look proper . new pipes can be made a company called BM conversions of Cannock got them on Facebook so once I can see what needs replacing hopefully just a few days to get pipes made all tips on this job will help been many years since I lay under a car not looking forward to it at all but am no getting ripped off buying new rack etc

As I said one of the pipes which commonly leaks is relatively easy to get at, I'm sure Dave @Mint has done his, he might be able to advise better than I can Dave so I've tagged him in this.

Sorry late to the party but yes you are correct @t-tony, I have had a leak. @BIG DAVE, you'll have to get the plastic under-tray off and have a look but mine was leaking at the metal to rubber joint. Pictures are worth a thousand words so...

Hi again had to put car into local small garage next to workplace Iam getting to old for. lying under cars .anyway metal rack pipes replaced turns out was high pressure from pump to rack that was leaking very slightly dripping onto pipes below ,took two day of fettling to find this out buy garage so pipe removed quick dash to Fluidtek along the road 45 min later new pipe, still waiting on call from garage at this time if successful repair fingers x
With thanks to Brian H for dropping of pipes on way to rockingham unfortunately wrong type of gland on end
So contacted company called Power Steering Store (Facebook ) on Monday pipes arrived Wednesday great service from them this is becoming a saga for leaking pipes already missed Bridge of Allan classic car with club so hopefully be ready for Thirlestone Classic on 4 th June

Ok guys new pipes fitted yepee turned out to be high pressure from pump dripping ever so slightly onto metal return pipes so all sorted what a saga then the mechanic damages door left it with a fair old dent so I have decided to respray the whole car was needing a tidy up anyway so this just moves it on a bit quicker
