got flight booked for portugal anyone been there been looking at albufeir and quarteiria whats it like any recomendations.... ?

We've been looking at Portugal for holidays as we can now fly direct from Newquay which is only 20 mins from home. Never been there but it's on our radar

We have been to the Algarve several times over the years. We have stayed in Albufeira (busy, very touristy in places), Alvor (good selection of bars and restaurants) and Lagos (our favourite). Lagos is further from the airport but it’s the sort of place where plenty of Portuguese go on holiday. There’s an old town area with bars and restaurants and a modern marina.

we love Lisbon metro & bus to & from airport great view as you fly in easy to get around bus metro & v/old tram system great people lots to see & do i recommend it

Albufeira is pleasant enough but can get a bit boisterous.

Alvor is our favourite and we've stayed there several times. A former fishing village - well still is actually. Centre still has a smaller resort feel. Although out of the centre it's surrounded by accommodation. Some good quality accommodation there too. Overall very civilised.

Went to Albufeira a number of years ago we went in September so it was quite busy but not to hectic , we stayed in a small family run hotel and found it excellent and the owner's couldn't do enough for you, thinking of going next year as a family holiday and looking at hiring a villa

Ditto

Been to Alberfiera a couple of times (not enough to learn how to spell it!)

Great fun, good value

we been looking at staying at quarteiria and vilamoura for the first week with a car, to travel about a bit and then the 2nd week somewhere else without car.. anyone been to vilamoura it looks real nice with a marina there... i like the look of lagos and that big dinosaur shaped lake thing i fancy a drive around that..

thanks for the advice we still looking at acommodation flights are sorted through couldnt really not go cost us £116 for two of us return with brianair...!!!

We are looking to book a week in Lanzarote shortly and checking on passport restrictions with breksit in mind , going into most of Europe normally as long as your passport was still valid on your day of return there was no issue but tour company's are now saying if booking holidays now for travel after 29th March passports should be valid for 6months after your return , until the situation is clearer

we walked to matagorda on the way to watch the aeroplanes taking off by the beach... i always walk up there on my birthday... had a great time weather was just right not too hot, but warm enough to be in shorts in day... we thinking on staying that area next time and possibly have a week in costa teguise... the best part about lanzarote i like is getting a car and driving about the island we love the mirador, famara beach and teguise market...

I went to Vilamoura some years back, it was bloody expensive so we took a taxi to albufera most nights, had a great time thiough as we stayed in my girlfriends parents luxery time share, thats when I found out she was as mad as a box of frogs, s*** load of money but not much upstairs :D

I had one like that Sean, great fun, nice looking but thick as a brick
