Hi Guys really hoping someone can help me I'm stuck in France while all this is going on, so thought I'd check in my z 3 and have found something quite concerning, it's a 2002 model and when I opened the boot this morning the compartment on the left hand side was completly full of water when I sponged it out I found a white electrical box submerged and the wires attached had completly come out of the electrical connector. First of all can someone please tell me what this is and if anyone has one for sale?
Here's hoping

I second the alarm tilt sensor the ariel grommet as mention is the usual culprit but check the seal on the rear light as it may be getting in there too

I would recommend an OEM ariel grommet, they are readily available and a new one would be more likely to seal properley, try Sopers. One of our resident breakers may have a sensor.

Very common issue leaks there so don't worry. The loss of the entire alarm is something that wouldn't bother some people as it can be more trouble than it's worth due to other failing sensors and false triggers. I don't switch mine on any more.

Hi and welcome from me in Scotland :welcome:.

Your door issue may be ' The Loom of Doom '
Loom of doom is the boot loom wiring that you see on nearside ( beside aerial) when you open the boot prone for wires splitting causing various electrical problems.

Loom of doom is the wiring loom that goes between the boot lid and the rear wing
