Hi,
2001 2.2 facelift - Just noticed that one of the front wheel arch liners is loose. Probably figure it out myself when I get the wheel off but can anyone bring me up to speed on how these are supposed to be secured?
Many thanks,
Dave

From memory it's a selection of 10mm hex head screws and a variety of fiendish BMW body clips. These are like mushrooms with a centre pin that self-destruct as soon as you touch them. Good news is they are only about 19p each from the dealer :)

Yep just as Titan says. Very easy to get off but a pig to reseat as there is no real flex in the new ones. When you put them on make sure you get it tooked correctly at the back of the lip of the sills

You may be lucky Dave, THIS OEM LINK suggests that all the fixings are screwed rather than mushroom rivets.
I used our car in this example but if you put the last 7 digits of you chassis number in to THIS PAGE, you should get the exact details for you Zed.
It should be under Group 51 SubGroup 75 Mounting Parts Engine ompartment
If you get stuck with OEM, let us know ;)

Back of the wheel arch, behind the wheel arch liner. It covers a gap in the chassis. I believe that’s the passenger side one. The holes on the right allows wires to pass through, including the wire for the side indicator

Those 8mm headed self tappers soon go rusty, same ones on my wing liners on the Z4 I have, they are quite visible on the outer edge and it niggled me every time I looked at the car. Ended up finding some compatable stainless screws on ebay and some stainless washers to increase the screw head size which have now been fitted to mine front and rear.
Screws I used were here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-5mm-4-...var=632025528956&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
Washers here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M4-M5-M6...var=622192733929&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
