hi my petrol flap does not lock with the remote, if i pull the locking pin out by hand it will retract with the central locking, so power is going to it but wont lock, does that mean the motor is at fault
Certainly does sound like a motor issue. At least it's getting power, so that cuts down on the possibilities.
Although I have been thinking more, but I don't think I've seen this particular issue affect the fuel flap lock. Sometimes the central locking plays up because the wiring loom that passes through the boot lid gets chafed and breaks. It might be worth inspecting the cables as they enter the boot lid as it's known to cause issues. You will need to strip back the plastic sheathing on the cables to inspect them. As I say, I don't recall this being an issue with the fuel filler though
cheers but the cable from the cap comes from the or by the fuel filler to the right side of the rear lights checked that out all seems ok
Mine is the same Phil I think it requires a look behind the plastic wheel arch liner to see what's happening .... or not. It 's on the job list.
