Peter Green .

I went to see him at Plymouth about 15yrs ago. His band "The Splinter Group" was backing John Mayall's Bluesbreakers where it all started for the great Mr Green

I saw him / them on the same tour in Sussex.!! I also saw the original Mac at a packed Blues Club in the 60s, fabulous band.

I heard the news last night, and listened to a lot of his playing till about 1.30 this morning. So much of his early stuff on youtube
He got a wonderful tone from his Les Paul, his slow Blues playing so so good. It was the space between his notes that allowed you to savour the feeling and the mood. He was also great at the up tempo stuff.
For great example of his magic, google 'John Mayall Tears in my Eyes live at the Marquee 1967'.
R.I.P. Peter, thank you for the music.

Bonzo.
