Even though I have a widebody 2.8 I keep getting drawn to the 15" pepper pot wheels. I am thinking of getting a spare set to use if I get my 17" wheels refurbished. Maybe fitting winter tyres on them. Is this wrong? Has anyone else fitted them to a widebody, all the pics of them seem to be on the earlier models. Would they need wheel spacers and would they look odd. Is it just me that likes them

I think they may look rather swallowed up to be honest. If they are off a 1.9 they may be narrower offsets and sit to far into the arches.

I am assuming the circumference would be the same as the bigger wheels. I have never seen them on the widebody models so it maybe the don't fit properly or just look odd. I would of thought some spacers would bring them out. I think I must have strange taste.

Spacers would work if needed. Not my cup of tea but each to their own.

Tony.

I have a 2001 widebody in Pistachio, I recently changed my 17" wheels for 16" pepperpots with new tyres. The car looks fantastic with these wheels and handles so much better, more responsive and the ride is lot better. I have never been a fan of large wheels they usually destroy the ride and handling of any car. Unfortunately I cannot submit new posts or pics on this site for some reason but if you sens me a pm with your email address I will send some pics from my phone.

Width may be narrower as well so 205 or 215 tyres rather than 225 / 245. Larger engined cars will also have bigger brakes so might be a bit tight fitting 15's. Plus they're ugly as sin, but hey each to their own :D.

Hi, are the 16" pepper pots original BMW wheels. I have only seen 15" one's. I agree about the ride. I find the lower profile tyre can be a bit harsh.

I quite like them. I like the retro look. If they made some in deep dish style may be they would be more popular

I reckon on the rear you will need to fit spacers or it will look a bit naff but with the right spacers it can be quite cool

I quite liked the pepperpot wheels when the Z3 first came out - a bit of a throwback to the 1930s 328 that had steel rims with round holes and knock off hub caps.
I reckon a wide bodied 2.8 would look quite smart running on 16" deep dish steel rims with 'pepperpot' centres.
