Pavement cleaning…. Help.

Trying to clean my pavement, got a quote of 450€ from a professional and a 280€ from a guy who has a van and strolls around the neighbourhood doing repairs and stuff.
I have a Karcher pressure washer and thinking of doing it myself.
Can I bleach-rub-rinse and have any results or do I have to just bite the bullet and pay?
i’ve watched some youtube videos and these professionals have some very high tech stuff that will cost me an arm and a leg to rent for a day…
any pavement cleaning connoiseurs around?

What is your pavement made of old mate, ?..I live in the bloody tropics, moss mould and other unwanted forms of vegetation are the bane of my life...Maybe I can offer some insight...

Righto, Chlorine, liquid form best..from your pool shop diluted down to sod all, spray the the thing with you car sudder. but don't get it on the plants..cheap and easy...a tablespoon or two in the car sudder mixed in will do the job..or quarter cup in fluid roughly depending on your sudders mix ratio, go lean to start, :thumbsup:. watch it die over a day or two.. and treat again if needed...Clean out the sudder thoroughly before you use it on your car...Of course.. Job done in a jiffy...It will go brown first and then wash off, and you will have dozens of treatments left... ;). We have an issue with it on the sides of the pool coping, all I do is jump in and splash around like I'm having a epi fit. and all the moss and mildew dies around the pool, It need not bring tears to your eyes or be in contravention of any EPA regulations...Moss Mould and Mildew have a very unique smell when they are are dieing you will know its working...

Jet wash a slab at a time works for my patio, removes moss etc. Just takes a long time. Once a year job, preferably on a sunny day. :thumbsup:
 
Cant quite see what the issue is, just ingrained dust, or a mould type growth ? Agreed, pressure washer a few slabs, see how you go. Its going to take a while to do the whole lot though . . .

Living in West Yorkshire with patios and a path going around the shady side of the house, black mould can not be stopped. Have to pressure wash every year.

Both the neighbour and daughter have had amazing results with spray-on Wet and Forget. It seems pricey compared to other products but boy does it seem to work. Took a while to activate - a few weeks to two months, during which time they thought they'd wasted their money. Both now look 'brand new' clean, neighbours has stayed like that for a couple of years without further application.

But thats shady damp climate black mould, I think it needs a certain amount of water to activate, so dont know if it will apply to yours . . .

I'd get the karcher out . . .

Yes, wet and forget does work. Is it available in Greece ?..

we do not have a lot of chemicals over here, just chlorine, strong detergents and a product called “swaz” sold in 1tl bottles that you have to dilute with water, or it will eat its way down to the ground. I really dislike these chemicals, we have lots of stray cats around and I wouldn't want to be responsible for a genocide.
The stains are mostly oil from the previous owners vehicles, mould and lots of dirt.
scrubbing with detergent doesnt seem to work so from what I understand, karcher and bleach will be the best I can do…
Will report on progress.
 
For "spot" cleaning I use brake cleaner and absorbant granules. Not a cheap method but it works.
