Can you post a picture of the cable routing? Unless they've been changed? at any time it must be the routing because Bowden cable can't stretch.

Bizarre are the outers of the cables located securely or the inner has nothing to pull against I cannot see them being stretched something must be not located to cause this I'm sure.

Everything looks well routed & securely fixed, all cable ends are located correctly including both nipples in the clips properly at the mechanism ends:banghead::banghead:

Are the outer cable sleeves secured on the seat frame? If they're secured with a clip, can the clip be released and the outer sleeve moved to take out some slack then the clip be re fixed?

It certainly doesn't appear that its possible to do that Tony, be great if it has threaded collars like pushbike brakes

Might be able to talk you through trying to fix it
Does look the easiest thing to get into & I'm not the most patient person I know! Time I've finished with it it'll be scrap for sure as anything electrical is usually my nemesis

Well if you plan to replace it.
I would be interested in taking the broken one off your hands to open up see if repairable.

I'm going to see Andy Friday to pick up a motor so I can get the car back on the road, but I'd happily send the old one to you & pay you if you can fix it for me & so I have a spare if I ever need it, cheers Steve

I'd like to take a look because I imagine that a lot of these motors probably end up binned when all they might need is opened up and some tlc applied to give them a new lease of life.
The one i done one mine sounds great whereas before it finally broke sounded a bit rough.
