The seat back adjustment is on a cable with two nipples on the ends these hook on the mechanism one at each side the cable only loops over the handle its not a fixed point only holds tension sounds like it may have fallen out of the groove.
Don't think I'll be able to do anything about that till the seat is out, one more bolt to go...The seat back adjustment is on a cable with two nipples on the ends these hook on the mechanism one at each side the cable only loops over the handle its not a fixed point only holds tension sounds like it may have fallen out of the groove.
Will be self explanatory when the seat is outDon't think I'll be able to do anything about that till the seat is out, one more bolt to go...
Bolt out!! So easy the one I thought would be the toughest, now what do I do to disconnect the electrics??Will be self explanatory when the seat is out![]()
Already done that the black block connector is being a pain to releaseMake sure the ignition is off and keys out or you will trigger an airbag light ! Then just unplug![]()
It's out!! Well upside down in the car, think I now need to inch the seat right back with the battery drill before I undo anything??Its fighting you all the way isn't it![]()
Will the runner automatically come to a halt when it's right back? It's out!! Well upside down in the car, think I now need to inch the seat right back with the battery drill before I undo anything??
Or do I just line up the big torx bolts with the holes? Will the runner automatically come to a halt when it's right back?
So just keep winding till it stops?Yeah it shouldnt wind off if thats what you mean ?
The cable has about an inch of slack on it no wonder it's come out of the handle groove, it's not broken as once I got it back in the groove & lifted the lever half way up it eventually moved the mechanism but not enough to allow the seat back to move, surely it can't have stretched that amount & I can't see anyway of adjusting up the slack?? Everything seems to be as it should be, I sat it on the garage floor & sat in it but it won't move I think the seat lever runs out of movement before the mechanism has moved enough to release it, can't really get a picture as it's pretty much hidden at the lever end, wonder if there's anyone local to me who has had experience of this? I'm just outside Andover Hampshire, SteveUnlikley to have stretched as you say it routes through the two black sleeves and the end hooks on the staggered clip.
You may have to sit in it now its re routed as it will take some force to push back.
Would certainly point to that. @Stevo7682 ?Done all the bushes now, before I disconnected the drivers seat I tried the passenger seat motor on it as I know that switch is ok, the motor did nothing except click so I take it it's the motor that is jammed not the switch??
I've managed to hook the cable back over the lever on both seats but there is miles to much slack in the cable with the lever in its normal position the loop of the cable hangs down (with seat upside down) about 10mm below the lever groove which stops the lever working properly as over half its movement is just taking up the slack & there appears no way of adjusting the slack away, any ideas anyone??The seat back adjustment is on a cable with two nipples on the ends these hook on the mechanism one at each side the cable only loops over the handle its not a fixed point only holds tension sounds like it may have fallen out of the groove.
