My 2.8 passed its medical today with flying colours. Emissions were spot on and no problems with the grubby bits. The tester used his stethoscope to locate a slight rattle at the front end that I was convinced was the Vanos but he found it to be the belt tensioner. I have just insured it for another 12 months so it looks like I am keeping it a while longer as the downsize house purchase has fallen through. Happy days.
If I get the tensioner swapped before then I will come in mine but being retired it’s very difficult finding the time to do jobs in between having a good time and relaxing.
If not I will slum it in the wife’s M.
I just thought you must have had a big paper round.
Seriously I cannot stress enough how good retirement is if you have reasonable health and enough money to get by, and just how expensive it was to go to work. You will love it!
