Close. But that's the one that goes on the underside of the slam panel for the linking cable. As opposed to the main cable on the inner wing.

Been able to get out and take proper photos now. In case of doubt.
Finally found the answer. I'd previously checked and not seen a number on the part. Have just checked again and there in tiny writing is the answer.

On realoem this is shown as an 8 Series part only - used on the rear axle. No wonder I couldn't find it! I must have spent 3-4 hours trying to work it out!
The bad news is this part is £3.50 (not cheap but could have been worse I guess) and I need 2. It's clearly a very obscure part so I'm not even going to waste any more time seeing if someone does a copy part.
This part self destructs on removal. As I needed to do to respray the engine bay. I know I could put a 2p alternative clip in its place but that just wouldn't be right would it...

Had a quick look for the part 331 811 811 23, and non really around in the UK. So dealer looks your best bet. They are $0.40 from the US but probably a $5 in shipping, and a huge wait time.
