Has anyone got experience of Parkside tools please?
I believe they are Lidl stores "own brand". Thank you.

Tony.

I have pretty much all of the 20 volt Team as below

s-l640.webp

SDS drill
Combination Drill (bigger of the 2 pictured)
Circular saw
Jigsaw
Reciprocating saw
Multi tool
Angle grinder
1/4 drive impact driver

plus

Impact gun 400nm 1/2" variable torque
Hedge-trimmer

5 chargers
5 x 2ah batteries and
2 x 4ah batteries

The tools I have found are very robust, and really powerful.
The sds drill is a godsend, especially with some of the engineering bricks on my house, it sends the drill through like hot knife through butter

The only thing to watch is that the batteries have a 3 month warranty and I have had two of the 2ah ones fail
Maybe because I used the larger charger designed for the 4ah batteries with the smaller versions, but it is not clear that you should not do that.
However the 2ah are only £13 when they are in store and the 4ah are £24
I got some extra batteries, last time they were in.

I had a small rechargeable drill from Lidl, after about 6 months the charger died, and there seems to be no way of getting another one so the manager took the whole lot off me and gave me my money back. No quibbling, but a bit of a PITA, all it needed was a charger, but it seems the computer says no.

Got a few,

20v team
Drill
SDS drill
Impact driver
Impact gun
Circular saw
Jigsaw
Grinder
Hedge trimmer

12v Mini grinder
A couple of 12v screwdriver thingys

All the 20v team ones have been brilliant so far, batteries are cheap also if you need extra's. They do a lot of gardening tools as well which the batteries fit. I've also got the Parkside wet and dry vacuum cleaner which has a blower function also that's great for drying out the crivices of the zed once washed. I recently bought a dewalt leaf blower though for that which is excellent, I already had a couple of batteries that fit it. I wouldn't mind the Parkside multi tool when they are next available as they are so useful, I have an aldi one which is corded that I picked up a few months back for £7.99.

My son is a self employed Wood butcher (sorry, Carpenter) and while he appreciates such as Parkside and Powercraft (Aldi) tools will do the job for a DIYer, if you're using these every day to earn your living tthen he DeWalt, Makita etc. are a better buy. I can't argue with that because as a former "Professional" mechanic I would buy a better known brand over "Cheaper" brands of tools. I am very happy with my growing collection of Ryobi one+ 18V tools and I have added a couple of corded tools into the collection too. The "Multi Tool " has the benefit of being able to couple with the Rigid brand of attachments for these tools (they're made by the same manufacturer) and I have a 3/8" drive ratchet head for my Ryobi one. I was intending buying some others but the Covid19 put paid to that, for now.

Tony.

I bought a multi-tool from one of the German supermarkets recently. I have no idea which one as they are both the same shop to me. It's been a revelation and I would have been stuffed doing my other half's new shower cubicle without it. If it broke tomorrow I'd live with the £15 or whatever it was. It helped me no end with that one job.

I also bought a £6 1/4" bit set that looked good value for money with dozens of bits but I never expected to use with all my other tools. But I keep it in the kitchen and I seem to use it every couple of days.

I have a parkside compressor. Bought it second hand for £40 with the standard cheap tools, which aren't great.

Compressor has been fine and spares are readily available. Lesson in life, don't lend tools, they come home broken!

So far it has obviously blown up dozens of tyres, sprayed aeroplane wings and built about a dozen fence panels. The tackwise nail gun cost near 5 times as much as the compressor but its all paid for itself.

No complaints.

Brother in law has just about everything they do including battery lawn mower as a semi retired builder and used to using more expensive brands for work he rates them for domestic use and wont buy anything else these days.

The sparky at work uses all the Parkside tools now as his van has been broken into twice and all his dewalt gear kindly removed twice. He is happy with them I know his Multi tool packed up after 6 months and a lot of work but he just took it back to Lidl and it was replaced.
